Chairman's Letter

With fall coming there are many activities posted in the Events section of our WEB site. Along with the help of our officers, committees and volunteers who make our meetings and special activities successful, I hope you also will plan to get involved and enjoy them.

Our Fall Festival is planned for October 15. The buffet menu will include Black Forest Glazed Ham, Turkey , filling parsley potatoes corn green beans yellow squash & zucchini w/ stewed tomatoes, also includes pumpkin soup. For dessert are apple dumplings w/ vanilla sauce, tickets go on sale September 10 and there are only 150 seats available.
Our business meeting on the second Wednesday of each month includes a special refreshment along with the usual chips, pretzels, beer, soda and coffee. We also give away many items, including $10 to one member who is present, and an extra $5 if that member is wearing a UAW shirt. We've given away over 200 shirts last year alone. There are also $5 gift certificates for The Meadows for the birthday and anniversary of the month. There is also a special bingo game worth a $50 prize given to every person playing bingo.
The annual picnic and Christmas parties are always sold out each year, so buy early and come meet up with former fellow co-workers and friends.
In lieu of contributions to The United Way, we are taking collections every two months for local charities. We will be listing the charities as they are chosen, and contributions will be accepted at the business meeting or by check made out to the charity and sent to the union hall,
I invite you and a guest to join the fun and camaraderie by stopping by every Wednesday, if not to play bingo but to socialize from 12:00 to 1:00 with a snack and drink, and every second Wednesday for our monthly business meeting.
